Head of Cyber Delivery Assurance
Location: London Waterside
Assignment type: Contract
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Cyber Delivery Assurance to lead the integration of security-by-design principles across a large and diverse technology delivery portfolio. This role is responsible for shaping and leading the cyber delivery assurance capability, ensuring cyber requirements are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle, and supporting the successful execution of the organisation's cyber strategy.
As a senior leader, you will work closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure secure delivery, effective risk management, and alignment with strategic cyber objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of 9 Cyber Delivery Assurance Subject Matter Experts.
- Provide cyber requirements, oversight, guidance, and assurance across technology delivery programmes and products.
- Ensure solutions align with organisational risk appetite and that security controls operate effectively.
- Influence senior stakeholders to embed cyber security into design, delivery, and governance processes.
- Define and implement cyber assurance strategies, frameworks, tools, and methodologies that support agile delivery and DevSecOps practices.
- Lead cyber assurance reviews to drive consistency, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation of cyber strategy and roadmap initiatives.
- Mentor colleagues and build cyber security capability across the wider technology organisation.
- Provide oversight of Information Security Management Systems (ISMS).

What You'll Bring
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience leading high-performing cyber security teams within complex organisations.
- Experience engaging and influencing senior executives, including C-suite stakeholders.
- Professional cyber security qualifications such as CISSP, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, SANS GIAC, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of NIST, PCI DSS, GDPR, NIS regulations, and NCSC guidance.
- Experience working in regulated environments with complex cyber security requirements.
- Experience supporting agile technology delivery.
Skills & Capabilities
- Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong understanding of security-by-design and cyber assurance frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong prioritisation and organisational skills, with the ability to operate effectively in complex environments.
- Knowledge of aviation systems would be advantageous.
