Head of D2C

Ready to own a global D2C channel rather than just keep it ticking over?

Want the autonomy to set the strategy, challenge the thinking and see the results?

Could you take an ecommerce proposition and build it into a global growth engine?

MacGregor Black is partnering with a globally recognised sports and leisure brand on the search for a Head of D2C based in Hertfordshire.

This is a newly prioritised leadership role with responsibility for setting the global direction of the brand's D2C channel and accelerating the growth of its ecommerce proposition. You will own the strategy, lead a team of three and work closely with Performance Marketing to connect customer acquisition with onsite conversion and commercial trading. The remit is to build the channel, not maintain it, with real autonomy to shape direction and challenge existing thinking.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and define the global D2C strategy, setting the roadmap for growth and development
  • Take accountability for the commercial performance of the ecommerce channel, improving revenue, conversion, AOV and customer lifetime value
  • Lead and develop a team of three within the web function, with scope to expand
  • Partner with Performance Marketing to link acquisition activity to onsite conversion and trading
  • Drive the ongoing development of the website and customer journey
  • Lead the optimisation and evolution of the ecommerce platform
  • Use data, customer insight and trading performance to guide decisions and prioritise investment
  • Identify new opportunities across markets, products, content, technology and customer experience
  • Ensure the online proposition reflects the brand positioning, product quality and customer promise
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Commercial and Operations to embed D2C within the wider business strategy
  • Test new approaches and continually challenge how the digital proposition can improve

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
