Head of Data

Salary: £105,000 - £115,000

Location: London | Hybrid

Data Idols are working with a high-growth technology business that is looking for a Head of Data to lead and develop its Data function.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious organisation at a key stage of growth, where data plays an important role across product development, commercial performance, and strategic decision-making.

The Opportunity

As Head of Data, you will be a key senior leader within the organisation, taking ownership of the Data function and setting the direction for how data is used across the business.

This is a strategic and hands-on position. You will:

  • Own the data strategy and roadmap
  • Lead and develop a small high-performing team
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to ensure the organisation has the data capabilities it needs to scale

You will:

  • Strengthen the use of data and measurement within product development, improving how KPIs are defined, tracked, and used to understand performance and impact
  • Help teams across the organisation gain clearer, more reliable insight to support better and faster decision-making
  • Continue to develop the organisation's data infrastructure
  • Establish pragmatic approaches to governance and privacy
  • Explore how AI and automation can be used to improve processes and increase the effectiveness of the Data function

Skills and Experience

  • Strong experience leading or owning a Data function, strategy, or roadmap within a growing organisation
  • Hands-on experience across data modelling and analytics engineering
  • Practical knowledge of data governance, privacy, and data quality
  • Experience developing scalable and reliable data infrastructure
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across multiple business functions
  • Experience leading, coaching, and developing data professionals
