It is an exciting time to join us at Redmayne Bentley. After recently celebrating our 150th year in business, we are embarking on the next stage of our firm-wide strategy to build on our strong, historic foundations.
Redmayne Bentley has invested in its data platform and has strong senior leadership support for the next stage of its development. We are now looking for an experienced data leader to define our strategy, establish effective governance and help the firm turn trusted data into better decisions, stronger oversight and improved client outcomes.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be the firm’s senior authority on data. You will lead the development and delivery of our Data Strategy, establish clear ownership and accountability, strengthen data quality and controls, and help us realise greater value from our existing data warehouse and analytical capabilities.
Your First Year
You will not be starting with a completely blank page. We have a data warehouse, analytical capability, knowledgeable colleagues and genuine senior leadership support. What we need is an experienced leader who can bring these elements together, establish a coherent operating model and build the culture and capability required for data to become a trusted business asset.
To do this you will be tasked with creating a firm-wide Data Strategy and delivery roadmap, with a particular short-term focus on ensuring there are solid and consistent foundations around data governance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

During this time, you will need to be very hands-on in your approach – taking the lead in establishing standards and procedures for data use across the firm.
You will have a small team reporting into you, as well as support from SMEs to help develop your understanding of what data we have and use, particularly for industry and departmental contextual knowledge.
You will begin to build relationships with our diverse range of internal & external stakeholders to develop your institutional knowledge of the firm. This will help mould your framework & strategy into one that best suits the needs of the firm.
We would also expect you to get to grips with our existing data warehouse, evaluating ways it can be better utilised and rolled out across the wider firm.
Long-Term Focus
Building on these successful foundations, you will be supported to develop your team to reinforce your framework and deliver the Data Strategy.
You will start to delegate more of the day-to-day management and operational tasks to your team and departmental SMEs, allowing you to focus more of your energies into strategic oversight and future planning.
At this point your focus will be on providing strategic direction and oversight and developing longer-term talent and development plans for the firm’s data strategy as it continues to mature and grow.
Your leadership and expertise will become increasingly prominent within our corporate governance structures, a trusted voice contributing to decision-making and future firm-wide strategic planning.

We have the core ingredients and internal support for the right leader to thrive in this role, and this role offers an opportunity for you to make a transformative impact on the future success of our firm.

- A long-term business strategy that places data at the heart of our future success.
What We Need from You
- A hands-on approach to building a robust data strategy and framework.
- Willingness to engage, educate and influence wider firm colleagues on the importance of better data capture, quality and analysis.
- Creativity and flexibility to craft a firm-wide strategy that works for Redmayne Bentley, rather than simply implementing a standard approach.
