Head of Data & AI Governance

£110,000 + 30%
London | Hybrid Working

We’re delighted to be partnering exclusively with a global Food & Beverage organisation on their search for a Head of Data & AI Governance. This is a pivotal leadership hire for an organisation investing heavily in its data, analytics and AI capabilities, and looking for someone to shape and embed its governance strategy across a complex, global business.

You’ll lead the Data & AI Governance function, establishing effective frameworks, policies and controls to manage risk, ensure compliance and enable the business to maximise the value of its data and AI capabilities.

What you can expect

  • A senior leadership role with ownership of the Data & AI Governance strategy, framework and roadmap, ensuring governance supports wider business objectives while enabling responsible innovation.
  • Responsibility for designing and embedding governance policies, standards and controls across data and AI, helping mitigate risk and ensure compliance across a global organisation.
  • A highly visible role partnering closely with senior stakeholders across technology, legal and the wider business to drive adoption, build trust and demonstrate the value of effective governance.
  • The opportunity to build and develop a strong governance culture, establishing communities of practice, supporting business teams and embedding best practice across the organisation.
  • Exposure to vendor and partner management, with accountability for delivery quality, performance and continuous improvement, alongside the opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing team.

Desired background / skillset

  • Proven experience leading Data Governance functions, with demonstrable knowledge of AI Governance and the associated risks, controls and compliance requirements.
  • A strong track record of delivering governance frameworks and initiatives within large, complex organisations, ideally operating across multiple regions or countries.
  • Deep knowledge of data governance frameworks, policies, standards and best practice, with the ability to translate these into practical business solutions.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence senior leaders and bring business teams on board with governance initiatives.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams, developing communities of practice and embedding a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks would be highly desirable, alongside exposure to analytics, data science, machine learning or AI environments.
