Head of Data, Analytics & Digital Transformation - £75-£80k - Crewe (York, Derby or Leeds considered) - Hybrid

Are you a strategic data and digital leader with a passion for transforming businesses through technology, analytics and innovation?

We are seeking an experienced Head of Data, Analytics & Digital Transformation to lead the development and execution of our Rail Services data and digital strategy. This is a high-profile leadership role where you will shape how data, analytics, automation, AI and digital technologies drive performance, improve customer experience and support business growth.

Reporting directly to the Finance Director and working closely with the Executive Team, you will establish and lead a central data and digital capability, creating a modern data-driven organisation that delivers measurable operational and commercial benefits.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to lead enterprise-wide transformation across a complex and diverse business. You'll be responsible for developing a clear roadmap for data, analytics, automation and digital innovation, ensuring technology investments deliver real value and support long-term business objectives.

You will champion data-led decision-making, establish robust governance frameworks, and drive the adoption of innovative technologies that improve efficiency, enhance reporting and unlock new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the Rail Services data and digital transformation strategy.
  • Lead large-scale transformation and business change programmes.
  • Create a single source of truth for business-critical data.
  • Establish enterprise-wide data governance, reporting and analytics capabilities.
  • Drive automation, digitalisation and AI adoption across the organisation.
  • Build and lead a high-performing Data, Analytics & Digital Transformation function.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and executive leaders to embed data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop business cases and manage investment portfolios to maximise return on investment.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection, information security and governance requirements.

About You

You'll be a commercially minded leader with a proven track record of delivering digital transformation and building modern data capabilities within complex organisations.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Significant leadership experience within Data, Analytics, Digital Transformation or Technology functions.
  • A strong track record of delivering organisation-wide transformation programmes.
  • Experience developing data strategies, governance frameworks and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Expertise in data analytics, automation, AI and emerging technologies.
  • Experience building and leading high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets and investment programmes.
  • The ability to translate business challenges into practical technology and data solutions.
