Position:
BCHA is looking for a forward-thinking Head of Data and Performance to lead how we use data and insight to improve our organisation and the lives of the people we support.
As a charity and housing provider, good data matters. It helps us understand our customers, improve services, manage risk, meet our regulatory responsibilities, and make the best use of our resources.
You will lead the development and delivery of BCHA's data strategy, ensuring data is treated as a valuable organisational asset. You will oversee data governance, analytics, reporting, and performance, making sure colleagues have access to information they can trust and use.
A key part of the role will be building a stronger data culture across BCHA. You will work with colleagues at all levels to turn data into useful insight, support evidence-based decisions, and identify opportunities to improve how we work.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver BCHA's data strategy, ensuring it supports our mission, priorities, and long-term plans.
- Lead the development of a strong data and performance culture across BCHA.
- Ensure data and insight are used to improve customer experience, service quality, organisational performance, and decision-making.
- Lead and improve BCHA's data governance framework, including policies, standards, ownership, stewardship, and data quality.
- Ensure our data is accurate, secure, accessible, and fit for purpose.
- Oversee data architecture, engineering, analytics, and reporting to meet organisational needs.
- Ensure compliance with GDPR, data protection legislation, and relevant regulatory, audit, and information governance requirements.
- Develop meaningful performance measures that demonstrate progress, highlight areas for improvement, and support accountability.
- Work with colleagues across BCHA to understand their information needs and turn data into practical insight.
- Identify opportunities to use technology, data, and insight to improve services and make better use of our resources.
- Build confidence and capability across BCHA in using data effectively.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the data and performance team, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
