Head of Data Centres | Design & Engineering | UK & Europe

Location

London / European travel

Working pattern

Hybrid working out of the London office, with regular travel to clients in Europe

Salary

£160,000 - £200,000 basic + Car + Travel + bonus + package

The Resolute Group has been retained to secure a Head of Data Centres for a leading Engineering and Technical services Consultancy, with offices across Europe, supporting the continued growth of the European data centre market.

This is a senior leadership opportunity reporting into the CEO, developing an existing division which has grown through excellence, not strategic focus. This position needs an experienced data centre professional who can take responsibility for developing and expanding the organisation's data centre offering. Focused on new clients, developing those relationships that will open up the Design and Engineering capability across the UK and Europe.

The role will involve:

  • Developing and delivering the strategy for continued growth within the data centre sector
  • Building and maintaining senior relationships with hyperscale clients, developers, contractors and technology partners
  • Providing support to the leadership team when undertaking multidisciplinary design and engineering services, from early-stage feasibility and concept through to detailed design and delivery
  • Overseeing the key stakeholder interface and leadership of the internal teams undertaking the technical standards, design quality, engineering performance and project delivery across multiple programmes
  • Identifying new opportunities and supporting business development, client engagement and work-winning activity
  • Building, developing and leading high-performing technical teams across multiple locations
  • Working closely with senior leadership on strategy, growth, operational performance and commercial objectives

We are looking for someone with:

  • Senior leadership experience within the data centre, mission-critical or digital infrastructure sector
  • A strong background in design, engineering consultancy or technical services, ideally supporting major data centre developments
  • Experience working across complex, high-value data centre projects for hyperscale, colocation or technology clients
  • Strong understanding of the multidisciplinary engineering requirements associated with data centres, including MEP, electrical, mechanical and associated infrastructure
  • Experience developing client relationships and winning new business within the data centre market
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary technical teams across multiple projects or geographies

This would suit a senior data centre professional looking for greater influence, autonomy and the opportunity to build and lead a growing design and engineering capability across one of Europe’s fastest-growing infrastructure markets.

The position will involve regular travel across Europe, engaging with clients, key internal stakeholders and advising the SLT on the short, medium and long term strategy for your division.

You must be living in the UK and able to work and travel as required within Europe to be considered for this position.
