Head of Data – Contract - Inside IR35
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Head of Data to provide strategic and technical leadership across a complex data environment.
You will take ownership of the data strategy, governance and architecture, working with senior stakeholders and technical teams to understand the current landscape and define a clear roadmap for improving how data is managed and used across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the data strategy and roadmap.
- Lead the development of data governance, quality, ownership and standards.
- Provide direction across data architecture, engineering and analytics.
- Define the target data architecture and operating model.
- Identify opportunities to improve how data is accessed, integrated and used.
- Provide leadership and assurance across data programmes and projects.
- Work with senior stakeholders to prioritise data initiatives and investment.
- Support the development of strong data foundations for AI and emerging technologies.
- Lead and develop data capability across the organisation.

Experience Required

- Significant experience in senior data leadership roles such as Head of Data, Data Director or Data Transformation Lead.
- Strong experience developing and delivering enterprise data strategies.
- Strong understanding of data architecture, governance and modern data platforms.
- Experience with cloud data technologies such as AWS, Azure, Snowflake or Databricks.
- Experience leading data transformation within complex organisations.
- Strong senior stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to operate strategically while remaining close enough to delivery to provide technical leadership and challenge.
