A bit about the job:

We are looking for an exceptional data engineering leader to join our team as we continue to modernise how data supports our Commercial Lines business. This is an opportunity to lead the transformation of our data landscape to power better decisions, deliver stronger outcomes and enable the next generation of AI innovation. At a time of increasing complexity, rapid change and growing ambition, high-quality, trusted data has never been more important to our future success.

This is a pivotal leadership role, combining strategic ambition with the opportunity to make a tangible difference. You will build a high-performing engineering organisation, create the conditions for analytics, AI and GenAI to thrive and help unlock greater value from our data. As part of the wider Commercial Lines leadership community, you will also partner across the Group and with technology leaders to drive growth, efficiency and responsible innovation.

  • Strong understanding of modern data management disciplines, with experience embedding effective data governance, quality and control at scale.
  • Experience delivering modern cloud-based data platforms and engineering practices that enable advanced analytics, AI and GenAI, including automation, platform modernisation and engineering excellence.
  • Strong commercial, risk and regulatory awareness, with the ability to balance innovation, control and delivery in a regulated environment, including GDPR, Consumer Duty and data governance requirements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
