Head of Data Engineering | B2B Intelligence | Build a 0-to-1 Global Data Platform

1️⃣ The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join a highly profitable, scaling B2B information services firm as they build a brand-new intelligence platform. This venture is designed to disrupt legacy market databases by merging proprietary human insights with massive public datasets.

The data engineering function is transitioning from a reactive service desk into a proactive, product-minded profit center. You will be the technical visionary responsible for architecting a modern data mesh from the ground up.

You will have the autonomy to make core architectural decisions and the leadership mandate to rebuild a dedicated engineering squad. This is a "founder-level" opportunity to create a career-defining product in a market growing 15% year-on-year.

2️⃣ What You’ll Be Doing

  • Architect the modern data stack using AWS, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, and Iceberg.
  • Write high-quality code and lead by example as a hands-on technical authority.
  • Transform the data function into a scalable, product-led engineering ecosystem.
  • Establish technical guardrails that allow domain teams to operate with autonomy.
  • Partner with Data Science to build robust pipelines for complex machine-learning models.
  • Mentor and grow a team of senior engineers within a high-performance culture.
  • Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development and drive rapid innovation.
  • Own the long-term technical roadmap and evolve the platform as it scales globally.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
