Head of Data Engineering – Microsoft Fabric | Contract | Outside IR35
I’m working with a growing technology consultancy that is looking for a Head of Data Engineering to lead a Microsoft Fabric-focused data engineering function on an initial 6-month rolling contract.
This is a hands-on leadership role rather than a purely strategic position. You’ll be responsible for setting the technical direction, helping shape the data engineering capability and working closely with senior stakeholders and delivery teams.

The essentials:
- Strong Microsoft Fabric experience
- Proven background leading Data Engineering teams/functions
- Strong Azure / Microsoft data ecosystem knowledge
- Comfortable defining architecture, engineering standards and best practice
- Experience working with senior stakeholders and clients
- Able to get into the detail when required rather than operating purely at management level

Contract details:
- £600–£650 per day
- Outside IR35
- 6-month rolling contract
- 2 days per week in London
- Immediate / short-term availability preferred
