Role Title: Head of Data Engineering

Engagement: Fixed-Term-Contract [12-months] - with scope for Permanent Conversion

Location: Remote

Salary: £120,000

SystemsAccountants are partnered with a Global Organisation who are seeking an experienced Head of Data Engineering to lead the development, testing and operational running of a Data Engineering function. This role combines team leadership with strong technical grounding in Microsoft Fabric and environment management, alongside an ITIL centric approach to running data services in a well-governed, stable and continuously improving domain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development team, including oversight of testing and operational practices.
  • Own environment management and platform operations within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Apply ITIL-aligned service management practices, including SLA management, major incident management, problem management, and continual service improvement.
  • Document and govern engineering practices and platform changes in parallel with build and development, rather than retrospectively.
  • Build strong working relationships across technical and business stakeholders, managing expectations and priorities effectively.
  • Develop recommended solutions independently, socialise them quickly with data leadership, and move them into action at pace.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
