Job Title

We're investing in our technology, data and analytics capabilities to support smarter decision-making, better learner outcomes and future growth. We're looking for an experienced Head of Data Engineering to lead the development of our modern data platform across Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks and Power BI.

This is a fantastic opportunity to shape data strategy, lead a growing capability and help build scalable, future-ready solutions that support reporting, analytics and emerging AI initiatives.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the development of our modern data platform
  • Designing scalable data pipelines and solutions
  • Driving data governance, quality and security standards
  • Managing and developing a small team
  • Working closely with stakeholders across the business
  • Supporting our future analytics and AI roadmap

What we're looking for:

  • Experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform or Analytics Engineering leadership
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Python and SQL
  • Experience delivering cloud-based data solutions
  • Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills
  • A passion for turning data into meaningful business outcomes

Desirable

  • Experience within education, apprenticeships or another regulated environment.
  • Microsoft and/or Databricks certifications.
  • Experience with Power BI semantic models and self-service analytics.
  • Knowledge of AI-ready data platforms and emerging analytics technologies.
