Head of Data Analytics & Insight

About Albany Beck

Albany Beck is a consultancy specialising in delivering high-quality change, technology, data and regulatory solutions across financial services. We partner with leading banks, asset managers, wealth managers, insurers and other financial institutions to provide experienced consultants who can support complex business and transformation programmes.

Client Deployment Role Description

We are looking for an experienced Head of Data Analytics & Insight to work with us here at Albany Beck, supporting a leading financial services organisation.

This is a senior, business-facing leadership role responsible for transforming the organisation’s Analytics, Management Information, Reporting and Insight capability.

The successful individual will take ownership of the existing reporting and analytics estate, helping the business move away from fragmented and manually intensive reporting towards a more scalable, governed and insight-led model.

The role will focus on ensuring data is translated into trusted, accessible and actionable insight, while establishing consistent reporting standards, improving automation and enabling greater self-service capability across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Analytics, MI, Reporting and Insight function.
  • Define and deliver the strategy for enterprise analytics and reporting.
  • Assess the existing reporting estate and identify critical reporting outputs, gaps and areas of duplication.
  • Rationalise fragmented and manually intensive reporting processes.
  • Reduce reliance on spreadsheet-based and manually adjusted MI.
  • Establish consistent definitions for key metrics, KPIs and management information.
  • Ensure reporting is built on trusted, governed and reconciled data.
  • Improve data lineage from source systems through to reporting outputs.
  • Develop scalable and appropriately governed self-service analytics capability.
  • Lead the adoption of reusable data products and semantic models.
  • Strengthen the use of Power BI and Microsoft Fabric across the organisation.
  • Improve reporting automation, reliability and timeliness.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to ensure analytics supports meaningful business outcomes.
  • Establish clear prioritisation and demand-management processes.
  • Support executive, operational and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Work closely with Data Platform, Data Governance and Architecture teams.
  • Assess the current team structure and capability and define the appropriate future operating model.
  • Build a culture focused on insight, adoption and measurable business value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
