Role Purpose
The Head of Data & Management Information will lead the bank's enterprise data, regulatory reporting, management information, data governance, and reporting strategy. The role will ensure that the bank maintains robust data controls, delivers high-quality management information to the Executive team and Board, and continues to meet all regulatory reporting obligations.
This is a highly visible leadership position, requiring an individual who can balance strategic transformation with hands-on operational delivery. The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to the COO and Executive Committee, influencing business decisions through data-led insight while driving continual improvement across systems, processes, and controls.
Key Responsibilities
Data Strategy & Transformation
- Develop and own the bank's data strategy and roadmap.
- Lead the evolution of the bank's data architecture, reporting platforms, and governance framework.
- Drive automation and simplification of reporting processes.
- Deliver data transformation initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and scalability.
- Champion data as a strategic asset across the organisation.
Regulatory Reporting
- Own all regulatory reporting processes.
- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of submissions.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulators and auditors where required.
- Monitor regulatory change and assess impacts on data and reporting requirements.
- Ensure robust controls, reconciliations, and governance frameworks are maintained.

Management Information & Analytics
- Deliver high-quality MI to Executive Committee, Board, and senior leaders.
- Develop KPI frameworks aligned to strategic objectives.
- Enhance reporting tooling, capabilities, and self-service analytics.
- Provide commercial insight to support business growth and performance management.
Data Governance & Quality
- Maintain and evolve enterprise-wide data governance.
- Implement effective data quality controls and monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations regarding data management.
- Lead data lineage, ownership, and accountability frameworks.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the senior data leader within the bank.
- Build strong relationships across Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Technology.
- Influence and challenge senior stakeholders where appropriate.
- Translate complex technical concepts into business-focused outcomes.
- Lead and develop a high-performing team.
Operations Oversight
- Manage the Middle Office function during the transitional period.
- Drive operational efficiency and control improvements.
- Support future separation of operational responsibilities as the organisation grows.

Required Experience
- Senior leadership experience within a bank, challenger bank, building society, fintech, or regulated financial services environment.
- Ownership of regulatory reporting frameworks.
- Strong understanding of PRA/FCA requirements.
- Experience leading data governance and data quality programmes.
- Delivery of enterprise data or reporting transformation initiatives.
- Experience producing Board and Executive-level MI.
- Proven ability to operate both strategically and operationally.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with Executive-level influence.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting a challenger bank or growth-focused regulated lender.
- Experience implementing reporting, data warehousing, or regulatory platforms.
- Understanding of treasury, ALM, liquidity, and capital reporting.
- Experience managing operational or middle-office functions.
- Experience through a significant growth, change, or transformation programme.

Please note this role is being offered on an initial fixed term basis, with an option to transfer to permanent employment.
