A leading Financial Services organisation is looking to appoint a technically strong Head of Data Platform Engineering to lead the design, development, and evolution of its enterprise data platform. The role offers a base salary of £140,000 plus excellent benefits. The business operates a remote-first model, with occasional travel to its London and Southeast office.
This is a senior technical leadership role with responsibility for a modern Azure and Snowflake environment, leading teams across platform engineering, quality, and governance. You will own the data platform roadmap, drive delivery across strategic change and BAU, and provide the technical direction required to build a scalable, secure, and high-performing data capability.

The role will suit someone with strong technical depth in modern data platforms alongside proven leadership experience. You will be expected to improve engineering standards, strengthen DataOps and CI/CD practices, drive platform optimisation and cost control, and act as a senior technical partner to stakeholders across technology and the wider business.
Key Requirements
- Strong technical background in modern data platform engineering, with experience leading engineering teams
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake, Azure, and cloud-based data environments
- Proven experience across DataOps, DevOps, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices
- Strong understanding of data platform architecture, scalability, performance, security, and governance
- Experience driving platform optimisation, automation, and cost control
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional delivery
- Strong people leadership skills, with experience building high-performing technical teams
