Head of Data Science (12 Month FTC)

Salary: Up to £155k + bonus
Location: London (3x a week)

I’m working exclusively with a high growth FinTech that is looking for a Head of Data Science to join on a 12 month FTC.

The opportunity

You’ll lead and develop a Data Science team while remaining close enough to the technical detail to set the bar on quality and make key technical decisions. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, Pricing and senior stakeholders to identify where Data Science can have the greatest commercial impact and ensure the team delivers at pace.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading, developing and motivating a high performing Data Science team
  • Setting technical standards across the full modelling and Data Science lifecycle
  • Identifying and prioritising opportunities that can deliver meaningful commercial impact
  • Partnering with Product, Engineering and Pricing on technical direction and trade offs
  • Influencing senior and C-suite stakeholders and constructively challenging decisions where required
  • Coaching technical talent and driving improvements across ways of working, tooling and best practice

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
