Success in this role means delivering a financially robust, high-performing training service supported by strong leadership, continuous improvement, and clear, reliable performance reporting.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Providing overall leadership and accountability for DCASO service delivery, ensuring training services consistently meet contractual, operational and customer requirements.
- Owning commercial, financial and contractual performance, including budget management, cost control, value-for-money delivery and risk management.
- Acting as the senior customer interface, building trusted relationships with RAF and MoD stakeholders and representing Aquila professionally at all times.
- Leading, developing and enabling a large operational workforce, embedding a strong safety culture, clear accountability, and continuous improvement across DCASO.
This is a senior, hands on leadership role where you’ll shape service performance, lead people at scale, and directly contribute to Aquila’s operational credibility and customer confidence.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
