About the Role

Most Heads of Delivery end up as the busiest delivery manager on the team, with no time left to lead. Here, client work is kept to around two days a week. The rest of your week goes on growing your team and improving how we deliver.

You'll lead four Senior Delivery Managers, including one we're hiring now, and you'll grow the team from there. You'll report to our Chief Financial and Operating Officer, and there's an opportunity to progress to director level.

What you'll be doing

  • Shape how delivery works, from team structure to how projects are run and reported
  • Run delivery across all our client projects, keeping them on budget and profitable
  • Give leadership a clear view of how every project is going

Who you'll be doing it for

hedgehog lab is a digital product consultancy with 20 years behind us, backed by a growth capital investor. We're a certified B Corp, and a share of our client revenue funds local charities and projects.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Earlier this year, a client came to us after three failed outsourcing projects. We embedded engineers in their teams, and they've since extended. On recent projects, our agentic engineering has cut the time it takes to get code reviewed and approved by 60%.

Sectors include government, media, health tech, retail and financial services. Project teams of 5 to 15 mix agentic engineers, software engineers, QA and designers.

Where you'll work

There's no set number of office days, but we value time together in person. You'll need to be in the office or on client sites for important meetings and workshops, so you must live within 50 miles of Leeds or Manchester.

What you'll get

  • 28 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • 5 paid Impact Days a year for learning, volunteering or innovation
  • Learning and wellbeing budgets, plus 2 paid wellbeing days a year
