Demand Forecasting Product Owner
RAC are on the lookout for a Demand Forecasting Product Owner who will directly shape operational performance, financial planning, and executive decision making. You will sit at the heart of the organisation, bringing forecasting authority & leadership, and executive influence to a forecasting capability trusted by SLT, the Executive Committee, and the CEO.
As Demand Forecasting Product Owner, you will lead a critical capability at the heart of a high volume, fast-moving organisation. The forecasts you own determine how the business plans, how it deploys resources, how it protects margin, and most importantly how we consistently meet customer demand.
You’ll lead a team of specialists and act as the bridge between Data Science and Operations, ensuring forecasts are not only methodologically robust, but transparent, actionable, and truly decision ready.
Based from our Bescot or Bristol site - this is a hybrid working role.
What You’ll Do
- Own and continuously evolve the Group Operational Forecast, ensuring accuracy, credibility, resilience, and real operational value.
- Lead a Forecasting Improvement Programme, delivering rapid, measurable gains in accuracy, stability, and transparency.
- Provide clear, confident weekly narrative and insight to the Executive Team and CEO, explaining movements, risks, and required actions.
- Act as the day-to-day conduit between Data Science and Operations, translating complex model behaviour into operational insight.
- Own the forecasting product roadmap, prioritising sprint-based enhancements with Data Science, Technology, and Operations teams.
- Establish robust model governance, including explainability, diagnostics, validation, stress testing, and change control.
- Align short-, medium-, and long-term forecasts, creating a single, coherent forecasting story across the organisation.
- Strengthen data quality, controls, and end to end forecasting processes, reducing manual intervention and increasing trust.
- Influence and challenge at a senior level, ensuring forecasting is recognised as a strategic capability, not a technical process.
- Lead, coach, and develop a high performing team of forecasting specialists.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
