Head of Department – Residential Property Solicitor

£65,000–£80,000 | Regional Multi-Office Practice | Partnership Opportunities

Location: Peterborough

Are you an experienced Residential Property Solicitor with a proven track record of managing and developing a team?

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing regional law firm and take a senior leadership role within an established Residential Property department of 20+ team members.

The current Head of Department is taking a step back, creating a genuine opportunity for someone to come in, make the role their own and play a significant part in the continued growth and development of the firm.

The Role

This is a non-fee-earning Head of Department position, giving you the opportunity to focus on the leadership, development, and strategic running of the Residential Property team rather than maintaining your own caseload.

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing a large Residential Property team
  • Supporting team members with their progression and development
  • Ensuring the department is operating effectively and efficiently
  • Working closely with senior management and other departments across the firm
  • Supporting business development and helping to grow the firm's Residential Property offering
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes, performance, and client service
  • Helping shape the future direction and continued growth of the department

About You

The firm is looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Significant experience within Residential Property
  • Previous experience managing and leading a team
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills
  • A commercial and business-development mindset
  • The ability to motivate, develop, and bring the best out of a team
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • The confidence to work at a senior level and contribute to the wider direction of the firm
