Hobbs London is a luxury women’s fashion brand, showcasing timeless British style and expert craftsmanship. Season after season, each Hobbs collection embodies the multifaced nature of our modern woman - we pride ourselves on crafting pieces she loves to wear. Tailored to be feminine, you’ll find everyday polish alongside standout event dressing.

We are looking for a Head of Design to lead the creative and seasonal aesthetic direction of our Hobbs brand alongside our Product Director.

Our Design team are at the core of our business, creating the mood, colour palette, prints and key shapes of our collection each season that offer our Hobbs customer a point of difference. Working closely with the buying team to develop new product ranges seasonally, our designers ensure the balance of commerciality and fashion is met - the team keep abreast of the key global trends and anticipate those which are relevant to our Hobbs customer.

Reporting into the Product Director and working in tandem with the wider business you will deliver the premium handwriting and high-quality standards we are renowned for at Hobbs.

What you’ll do…

  • Partnering closely with the Head of Buying and Merchandising to aid the design, print and fabric teams to build collections which are both creative and commercial, using the seasonal strategy as a starting point
  • Supporting the design, print and fabric teams to identify the key shapes and product opportunities alongside developing considered cohesive packs for end use and phased drop
  • Establishing the seasonal colour palette, developing the overarching creative direction throughout the season to bring freshness and relevance to the product
  • Leading the fabric development strategy with the assistance of our Fabric Manager, ensuring that this commercially works for all end uses across the collection
  • Partner closely with the Product Director on collection reviews and final sign-off decisions
  • Manage, mentor, and motivate a high-performing design team

Who you’ll be…

  • Established Design Manager or Head of Design with a strong track record of leading successful seasonal collections
  • Proven creative leadership with the ability to bring fresh ideas, innovation, and commercial awareness to design direction
  • Demonstrated people management experience, confidently leading and developing a team of direct reports
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, able to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
