At Haleon, Digital & Technology plays a critical role in accelerating commercial growth through innovative, consumer-centric digital experiences. As part of our Commercial Digital Services transformation portfolio, we are investing significantly in our design capabilities to create exceptional experiences for consumers, customers and healthcare professionals across our global markets.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Head of Design to lead the vision, strategy and evolution of Haleon's Design function within the Commercial Digital Services Value Pool.
This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for shaping and scaling enterprise design capabilities across a transformation portfolio expected to deliver more than £250m in commercial benefit over the next 3-5 years. Operating across a complex global environment, you will define the future of design at Haleon, establish a Design Centre of Excellence, and ensure experience-led thinking becomes embedded within strategic decision making.
Working closely with senior leaders across Commercial, Marketing, Digital & Technology and Operating Units, you will drive design excellence, influence investment priorities and ensure digital experiences deliver measurable business value.

This role is suited to a senior design leader who is comfortable operating at enterprise scale, influencing executive stakeholders, building high-performing teams and leading organisational transformation through experience-led innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Defining and delivering the long-term vision, strategy and operating model for Design across Haleon's commercial organisation.
- Leading the development of a Design Centre of Excellence, establishing standards, governance, methodologies, tooling and best practices.
- Shaping portfolio priorities and investment decisions through customer insight, market intelligence and experience-led thinking.
- Identifying future opportunities through horizon scanning, emerging technologies and evolving customer needs.
- Acting as the senior Design advisor to Commercial, Marketing and Digital & Technology leadership teams.
- Aligning product, technology, data and commercial functions around shared experience outcomes.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Demonstrated success leading enterprise-scale Design functions within large multinational organisations.
- Proven ability to define and execute multi-year design strategies aligned to business objectives and growth outcomes.
- Experience establishing or leading Design Centres of Excellence, including governance, standards, operating models and capability frameworks.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience supporting sales, marketing, CRM, customer engagement and commercial transformation initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and shape strategic decisions through evidence-based design leadership.
- Experience leading organisational and behavioural change within complex transformation programmes
Desirable
- Experience within Consumer Health, FMCG, Retail, Pharmacy or Healthcare industries.
- Experience operating within global organisations balancing enterprise strategy and local market execution.
- Understanding of journey management, systems thinking and customer-centric operating models.
