The Role
As the Head of Development and Alumni Engagement, you will report to the Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement and lead the Development and Alumni Relations Team. You will be based at our Headington campus and lead the strategy for fundraising and alumni relations, build relationships with major donors, and expand our global alumni network.
About the Team
The Development and Alumni Relations Team works to build strong, lifelong connections with Oxford Brookes alumni, supporters, and friends worldwide. The team is responsible for securing philanthropic support, managing donor stewardship, and delivering impactful alumni engagement programs to advance the University's strategic goals and support its vibrant community.
What Will I Be Doing?
- Lead and manage the Development and Alumni Relations Team to deliver ambitious fundraising and alumni engagement goals.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy focusing on major gifts, individual giving, and corporate partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with high-net-worth individuals, key donors, alumni, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee alumni relations programs to increase engagement, volunteering, and lifelong connections with the University.
- Work closely with the Director of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement and senior leadership to align initiatives with University priorities.

What Skills Do I Need?
- Proven track record of success in major gift fundraising and alumni engagement within higher education or the non-profit sector.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of motivating and developing staff.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinking and expertise in planning and executing successful fundraising campaigns.
About the Location
Based at our Headington campus, you will experience a vibrant campus atmosphere in a modern office environment located close to Oxford city centre. Hybrid working arrangements are supported depending on operational requirements.
