About The Sofa Delivery Company - part of the DFS Group

At The Sofa Delivery Company, we know that a sofa is one of the most meaningful things someone can buy. That’s why we’re on a mission to be the best two-person delivery company around, delivering great experiences to our customers that count.

We’re big believers that a great job is not just something you have, it’s something you take pride in creating. You’ll be working alongside team members who live for the challenge and variety of our roles. No day is the same with us, and that’s the joy.

We’re looking for a Head of Development & Innovation to lead our strategic development, drive transformation, and help us grow into a successful 3PL provider.

This is a senior, strategic role for someone who loves turning ideas into action, spotting opportunities others miss, and building a future-ready business that stays true to who we are: practical, purposeful, and focused on what matters most.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead our Evolve strategy — delivering transformational programmes, operating model reviews, ESG and sustainability initiatives.
  • Drive innovation across our network, ways of working, and operating model.
  • Support 3PL growth — securing new business, improving customer performance, and designing scalable solutions.
  • Analyse operational and financial data to spot trends and opportunities.
  • Build and develop high-performing teams with a Better Never Stops mindset.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
