Head of Digital Marketing Lawyer – International Consumer (UK & Germany) - Vice President
About the Role As Vice President/Assistant General Counsel, you will grow and develop a high-performing marketing legal team, ensuring the business receives trusted, timely, and commercially pragmatic advice on regulatory matters critical to Chase (digital bank) and JPMorgan Personal Investing.
JPMorganChase’s International Consumer business is expanding rapidly—enterprising new markets, launching products, and building a distinctive digital customer experience. This role will position you at the core of that growth, advising on high-impact marketing campaigns across digital, social, and print channels.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Growth
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing marketing legal team, providing comprehensive advice on all aspects of marketing regulated financial products for International Consumer UK/EU businesses.
- Review financial promotions, marketing content, and regulatory compliance for campaigns.
- Act as the primary legal escalation point for complex/novel matters, balancing regulatory risk, customer outcomes, brand integrity, and speed-to-market.
Regulatory & Compliance Expertise
- Stay current on UK and EU regulatory updates affecting digital and traditional financial marketing, with a focus on emerging trends.
- Advise on UK/GDPR data protection and privacy requirements in marketing activities.
Strategic Partnerships & Stakeholder Management
- Build and maintain collaboration with global stakeholders across:
- Marketing
- Product
- Controls
- Compliance
- Risk
- Legal subject matter experts (e.g., privacy/data, IP, sourcing)

Operational Excellence
- Set team strategy, priorities, and resourcing; develop capability through coaching, performance management, hiring, and succession planning.
- Implement scalable workflows, including triage processes, SLAs, playbooks, and training modules, to support marketing growth and consistent decision-making.
Contract & Third-Party Agreement Review
- Review, interpret, and negotiate third-party agreements supporting marketing and communications, such as:
- Agency and media arrangements
- MarTech/SaaS contracts
- Sponsorship deals
- Influencer ("finfluencer") and talent agreements
- Ensure compliance with JPMorganChase policies and applicable regulatory standards.
Risk & Governance Reporting
- Provide clear risk reporting and strategic insights on emerging trends to senior stakeholders.
Miscellaneous Duties
- Execute other duties as required for legal support to the business.
Qualifications, Skills & Capabilities
Required
- Qualified lawyer (preferably in England & Wales or Germany).
- Significant in-house experience advising on marketing/advertising for regulated consumer-facing products/services.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- UK regulatory framework for marketing retail financial services (financial promotions).
- GDPR and data protection/privacy requirements applicable to marketing.
- Experience advising on advertising and communications channels, including:
- Digital and social media
- Online journeys
- Influencer marketing
- Traditional/print campaigns
- UK equality and consumer protection considerations in marketing (Equality Act).
- Strong commercial contracting skills specifically for marketing-related agreements (e.g., SaaS/MarTech, sponsorships, influencer agreements, agencies, media buying).
- Proven leadership ability in team development, coaching, and stakeholder relationships (global/matrixed organisations).
- Excellent communication and influencing skills—ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, practical guidance for legal and non-legal audiences.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex matters under tight deadlines.
