Head of Digital Product Design
London (Hybrid)
6 month contract initially - Inside IR35
We're partnering with a major UK retail and consumer brand to appoint an experienced Head of Product Design to lead the next evolution of their digital customer experience.
This is a rare opportunity for a senior design leader to shape the end-to-end digital design vision across web, app and emerging channels, influencing how millions of customers interact with a household-name brand in an increasingly AI-driven world.
The Opportunity
Reporting into the Digital Executive Leadership team, you'll own the design strategy, vision and execution across all customer-facing digital experiences. You'll be responsible for creating seamless, commercially impactful journeys that drive engagement, loyalty, conversion and long-term growth.

Leading a multidisciplinary team across UX, UI, Service Design and Research, you'll champion design excellence while building a high-performing culture that balances customer-centricity with commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver a multi-year digital design strategy aligned to customer and business goals
- Lead the design of end-to-end customer journeys across digital and physical touchpoints
- Own and evolve a scalable design system that enables consistency, accessibility and innovation
- Drive measurable improvements across customer satisfaction, conversion, engagement and revenue
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing and Commercial teams to influence strategic decisions
- Explore and introduce next-generation experiences including AI-driven personalisation, conversational interfaces and emerging digital retail technologies
- Build, inspire and develop a high-performing design organisation

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience leading digital design teams at scale within a complex omnichannel or digital-first environment
- Strong background in premium, customer-centric or brand-led businesses
- Deep expertise across UX, UI, Service Design and Design Systems
- Demonstrable track record of delivering commercial value through design
- Experience operating at both strategic and executional levels
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Passion for innovation, emerging technologies and the future of digital experiences
