Head of Digital Performance

We're creating a new role at Bigwave: Head of Digital Performance, to lead and grow our combined Paid Media and SEO function.

This role brings our Digital Performance disciplines together under a single strategic leader for the first time. As part of our Senior Leadership Team, you'll be accountable for the direction of the function: shaping how Paid Media and SEO work together, raising standards, establishing the team and culture from a strong foundation upward, and driving performance, profitability and development across resource planning, forecasting, client growth and service expansion.

You'll guide a talented team of specialists, helping them develop their capability, confidence and impact while ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional results for our clients. This is a chance to identify where we can grow and build a function that evolves with client needs and market developments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a digital leader with significant, current hands-on Paid Media expertise and a strong commercial mindset: someone energised by the chance to create something rather than simply maintain it.

You'll have experience running high-performing teams, developing managers and senior specialists, and giving people the space to do their best work. You'll be comfortable combining strategic thinking with hands-on problem-solving, and you'll know how to balance technical excellence, client outcomes and commercial performance.

Strong, current Paid Search, Paid Social and eCommerce experience is essential, alongside a solid understanding of SEO and the role it plays in a broader Performance strategy. While your primary expertise will sit within Paid Media, you'll be confident bringing both disciplines together effectively.
