Head of Digital

MCS are delighted to be working with a growing business who are dedicated to serving communities and organisations across media, print, digital and creative services.

They are looking for an experienced and commercially focused Head of Digital to lead and drive the company's digital strategy, e-commerce performance and online growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role for a digital professional who combines strong commercial acumen, technical understanding and digital marketing expertise. You will take overall ownership of digital trading performance, ensuring the company's digital platforms deliver an exceptional customer experience while maximising online sales, profitability and customer lifetime value.

You will work closely with the Directors, Sales, Customer Service and external digital partners, you will identify opportunities to increase traffic, improve conversion, strengthen customer engagement and deliver sustainable digital growth.

You will be responsible for ensuring the company's websites and digital channels remain market-leading, commercially effective and customer-focused, while developing and implementing a clear digital roadmap aligned with wider business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Digital & E-Commerce Strategy

  • Own and deliver the company's overall digital and e-commerce strategy.
  • Develop a clear digital roadmap aligned with commercial and business objectives.
  • Take accountability for online revenue, conversion, customer acquisition and profitability.
  • Identify new digital opportunities, technologies and channels to support business growth.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to maintain a competitive digital proposition.

Website Management & Optimisation

  • Take overall ownership of website performance, functionality, content and optimisation.
  • Continuously improve website usability, navigation, customer journeys and conversion rates.
  • Manage and develop website content through CMS platforms.
  • Lead website development and optimisation projects, working with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure the digital platforms provide a seamless, engaging and commercially effective customer experience.

Digital Marketing

  • Lead the digital marketing strategy across SEO, PPC, email marketing and other relevant channels.
  • Develop and optimise campaigns to increase qualified traffic, sales and return on investment.
  • Oversee email marketing activity, including customer segmentation, automation and campaign performance.
  • Work closely with external agencies and partners to maximise digital
