Head of Distribution – Property MGA

You could be just the right applicant for this job. Read all associated information and make sure to apply.

UK-based with regular broker travel

£85,000 + future bonus and equity opportunity

Are you an experienced property insurance professional who knows how to open doors, build influential broker relationships and turn a distribution strategy into profitable GWP?

This is an opportunity to join the founding leadership team of an ambitious new Property MGA and build its distribution function from the ground up.

Working alongside the Chief Underwriting Officer and Head of Underwriting, you will have genuine influence over the broker proposition, underwriting strategy and future direction of the business.

There is no rigid corporate playbook waiting for you. You will identify the right broker partners, create the distribution strategy and establish how opportunities are measured, developed and converted.

The opportunity

As Head of Distribution, you will take ownership of broker development across the UK.

  • Build relationships with regional, independent and national commercial brokers
  • Identify profitable books and schemes
  • Develop partnerships capable of delivering sustainable growth

This is not simply a diary-filling broker development role.

  • Understand the commercial impact of your activity
  • Identify which relationships are producing results
  • Change the approach when something is not working

When money is invested in networking, hospitality or industry events, you should be able to demonstrate how that activity translates into opportunities, pipeline and GWP. Where the return is not there, you will recommend a smarter approach.

You will also have input into underwriting decisions, helping ensure the distribution strategy remains aligned with appetite, capacity and profitability.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your location is less important than your ability to remain visible in the market.

You will spend significant time meeting brokers around the country, although you must also be able to attend periodic meetings in South Woodford or Central London.

Salary and future reward

The initial salary is up to £85,000.

Bonus and equity will be introduced once the business reaches profitability, anticipated at approximately £3.5 million GWP. At that stage, the leadership team intends to review and renegotiate the overall reward packages.

This gives you the opportunity to help build the value of the business and participate in the future success you have helped create.

About The Company
