Head of Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

At MAG, we provide the airport facilities and travel services people need to connect with the world. As the largest UK-owned airport operator, we serve millions of passengers each year through Manchester Airport, London Stansted Airport and East Midlands Airport. Our businesses bring people together, support the regions in which we operate and help keep the world moving.

We’re the Journey Makers. We’re one big team, on a journey of growth, making a real impact. In this Group-wide role, you’ll help create an organisation where every colleague feels supported, included and able to do their best work. You’ll have the opportunity to shape meaningful change across a large, complex business and help ensure equity, diversity and inclusion are built into the way we work, lead and make decisions.

You’ll also have access to a great range of benefits. The final package will be confirmed according to the role’s grade and may include:

  • Bonus scheme
  • 10% company pension contribution
  • Car allowance
  • Private medical scheme
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays
  • Free parking
  • Subsidised public transport
  • A wide range of company discounts
  • Two volunteering days each year
  • Free 24/7 Virtual GP service
  • Care Concierge service

The Role

As our Head of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, you’ll shape and deliver MAG’s EDI strategy, helping us create a culture where every colleague can bring the best of themselves to work.

Working closely with the Director of Internal Comms & Engagement, senior leaders and teams across MAG, you’ll turn our EDI ambitions into focused action. You’ll use insight, colleague feedback and external developments to guide priorities, measure progress and help remove barriers to inclusion across the organisation.

This is a visible, influential role with the opportunity to make a real difference. You’ll act as a trusted adviser, bring constructive challenge and help leaders understand the part they play in building an inclusive workplace.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop, evolve and deliver a comprehensive EDI strategy aligned with MAG’s business and People priorities.
  • Provide clear updates on progress to senior leadership forums, including the Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team.
  • Advise and constructively challenge leaders and stakeholders on decisions, practices and activity that affect inclusion.
  • Review and contribute to policies and working practices, ensuring they support MAG’s EDI commitments and relevant territories we operate in.
  • Identify barriers to equity and inclusion, then bring the right teams together to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Work with Talent Development colleagues to shape engaging EDI learning for colleagues and leaders.
  • Deliver EDI learning and facilitate conversations at all levels of the organisation, including with senior leaders.
  • Develop meaningful measures and reporting that show the effectiveness of EDI initiatives, policies and activity.
  • Improve the quality and use of colleague EDI data, turning insight into informed priorities and decisions.
  • Build relationships with external partners, community organisations and MAG’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility teams.
  • Represent MAG at relevant external events, conferences and forums.
  • Partner with Colleague Communities so colleague perspectives help shape priorities and positive change.
  • Work with Colleague Communities, the Chaplaincy and Communications teams to deliver an engaging programme of EDI events and communications.
  • Keep your own knowledge current through external networks, research and developments in EDI practice and legislation.
  • Lead and support an EDI Specialist, creating clarity, encouraging connection and enabling strong performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
