The Role
Step into the role of Head of E-commerce & Digital Marketing.
In this newly created role you will be the internal owner and driving force behind our brand’s digital growth, commercial success, and operational excellence across our Total Platform ecosystem and third party partnerships. You will be fully embedded within the brand, acting as the vital bridge linking our internal brand strategy, creative vision, and trading calendars with the technical powerhouse of the Next Total Platform. You will lead a dedicated cross-functional team, spearhead platform prioritisation, and leverage data, AI, and e-commerce innovations to maximise profitability, optimise the customer journey, and scale our brand’s digital presence globally.
A significant part of this role will involve collaborative leadership with our core brand partner, NEXT, to deliver best-in-class eCommerce and marketing solutions. Additionally, you will be accountable for digitally replicating these successes across our partnership portfolio to ensure brand consistency, deliver omnichannel campaigns & drive incremental growth across the business.
Working Pattern: This is a full-time role based at ‘The Barn’ - Joules’ purpose-built Head Office in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The typical hours for this role are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday and this is an onsite role. However, due to the intrinsic link between us and our key digital partner, NEXT, 1-2 days a week will be required at their Head Office in Enderby, Leicestershire.
Our Location
Market Harborough in Leicestershire, is where Joules began in 1989. This market town is home to the brand’s Head Office and is full of independent shops, bars, and restaurants. It also benefits from good transport links to London, making it easily accessible for visitors and commuters alike.
What You'll Do
Working in collaboration with the internal department leads, and our external digital partners, you will be accountable for the brand's digital growth, strategic leadership, and overall commercial trading performance across our entire digital estate
Brand Integration & Strategic Leadership: Act as the primary internal champion and point of contact at Joules for everything e-commerce related. You will ensure deep information flow between our leadership, marketing agencies and platform operators to seamlessly resolve operational friction. Fostering a culture of initiative, mentorship, and succession planning. You will also maintain and optimise the P&L view of our platform resources, monitoring quarterly financial statements to drive internal efficiencies.
Growth Strategy & Commercial Trading: Set and drive the long-term commercial roadmap for the brand website and third-party digital estate, appraising all growth ideas for commercial viability. Develop a deep understanding of our trading calendars and customer shopping behaviours to capitalise on peak trading opportunities, optimise marketing metrics, and drive international growth. You will continuously monitor daily and weekly KPIs to deliver concise, action-oriented updates to internal executive stakeholders.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
