Role: Head of Ecommerce

Location: Bingham, Nottinghamshire | Office-based

Salary: £65,000 - £80,000

Hours - Permanent | Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm

Elevation Recruitment Group are excited to be working with an established e-commerce business supplying a wide range of workplace, warehouse, industrial and commercial products to businesses across the UK.

With a large online product range and a growing digital operation, the business is looking for an experienced marketing leader to take ownership of the full marketing function and drive its next stage of growth.

The Role

This is a Head of Marketing position with a strong e-commerce focus, responsible for running the marketing department and setting the overall digital and commercial direction.

You’ll oversee website, branding, email, CRM, promotions and e-commerce analytics, while leading and developing the Marketing team.

A key focus will be understanding what is driving online sales, where customers are dropping off and how the business can improve conversion, basket spend, customer acquisition and overall trading performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Marketing team, including Marketing Executives.
  • Own the overall e-commerce and digital merchandising strategy.
  • Set the direction for product presentation, categorisation and online trading.
  • Oversee website content, product accuracy, imagery, pricing and categorisation.
  • Drive sales through conversion, product placement, cross-sell, upsell and promotions.
  • Manage the trading calendar, including product launches, campaigns and seasonal activity.
  • Lead promotional planning, including offers, vouchers and seasonal campaigns.
  • Oversee email marketing and CRM activity.
  • Use sales, traffic, conversion and e-commerce data to identify opportunities and improve performance.
  • Monitor key metrics including customer acquisition, conversion rates and basket spend.
  • Identify where customers are dropping off and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure marketing campaigns align with wider commercial and merchandising priorities.
  • Improve processes and workflows across the marketing and CMS functions.
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders to deliver commercial growth.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • Significant experience in a senior marketing / e-commerce role.
  • Strong e-commerce and digital trading experience is essential.
  • Previous experience leading and developing a marketing team.
  • Strong understanding of website performance, conversion and customer journeys.
  • Experience using e-commerce analytics and data to drive commercial decisions.
  • Understanding of CRM, email marketing, promotions and digital merchandising.
  • Strong commercial awareness with a focus on sales and revenue growth.
  • Experience planning and managing campaigns and trading calendars.
  • Ability to identify opportunities, improve processes and deliver change.
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
