Head of Electronics Engineering

A UK heritage brand is rebuilding its electronics engineering function from a low base, and TTI Group's global backing sits behind it. As Head of Electronics Engineering in Droitwich, Worcestershire, you own that build, the team, the standards, and a direct line into senior leadership from day one.

Scope of the Role

As Head of Electronics Engineering, you lead the team building Vax's next generation of floor care and home cleaning products, reporting directly into senior leadership.

  • Lead the electronics team across multiple products, owning cost, performance, and schedule on complex programmes.
  • Direct and review technical work across projects, teaching engineers what analysis actually matters.
  • Coach and mentor engineers through risk assessment, risk management, and clear technical communication.
  • Build the next layer of technical leadership within the team, not just deliver product.
  • Frame technical trade-off discussions and represent electronics clearly up to VP and SVP level.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Skills and Experience Required

Extensive experience leading an electronics engineering team, as a Head of Electronics Engineering, Electronics Engineering Manager, or Director of Electronics.

  • A proven track record of building or reshaping an electronics function, not just running one that already existed.
  • Background in consumer product, appliance, power tool, or similar hardware, ideally motorised or battery powered.
  • Holistic command of the NPD process, from concept through to volume, not one narrow slice of it.
  • Able to communicate complex technical topics simply, up to VP and SVP level.

About Vax

Vax is one of the best known names in UK floor care, and it now sits inside TTI Group, the business behind Milwaukee, Ryobi, and a broad cordless technology portfolio. As Head of Electronics Engineering, you join at the point where Vax is bringing NPD capability back into the UK and investing to build it properly, with next year marking the brand's 50th anniversary. You get global resource and backing without losing the visibility of a business small enough for your work to matter and be seen. The culture is curiosity led and design build test, the kind of environment strong engineers ask for and rarely find in a legacy brand.
