About the Role
We are delighted to welcome applications for the role of head of employer engagement and pupil projects at King’s College School, Wimbledon from January 2027, or sooner if possible. This is a new post, created to add capacity to the Futures team as we develop new areas of focus in employer engagement, work placements, and pupil projects.
The post is offered at 24 or 32 hours per week (0.6 or 0.8 FTE), term time only, with some additional hours during the school holidays. Full details are set out in the terms and conditions.
The post-holder works under the direction of the deputy head (futures & communities), alongside the director of employability and entrepreneurship and the wider Futures team. The focus of the post is the outward-facing and pupil project side of the programme: the employer partnerships, and the links with alumni and parents made through the development office, that generate opportunities for pupils, the work placement and mini internship pipeline, pupil enterprise projects, visiting speakers, and Futures-related trips and visits.
Colleagues in the Futures team continue to lead on the core careers programme, the King’s Business School curriculum, Gatsby Benchmark compliance, policy, and impact assessment. Priorities and the division of work are agreed with the deputy head (futures & communities) and kept under review as the team develops.
The Futures team works with pupils from Year 7 to the upper sixth, and with the wider King’s community of parents, alumni, and employer partners. The post-holder will be tasked with building a pipeline of real workplace opportunities for our pupils, designing an offer that is recognised across the sector for its depth and the quality of its execution.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
