Responsibilities
About the Team:
Our Global Legal team provides key support for all TikTok’s innovative initiatives, state-of-the-art products, and integrated platforms servicing our global video market. We help our technological and business teams enable their vision by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok Legal team is growing fast and is seeking highly experienced, bright and capable legal professionals to join the team. The Global Employment Law team provides strategic and practical legal advice to Human Resources and business stakeholders globally, and handles litigation matters involving TikTok in all the regions in which TikTok operates. This role is for a senior level employment lawyer with a passion for people management to lead our team of employment lawyers in our EMEA region. The following describes the responsibilities and requirements for the role.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a trusted advisor to HR and business stakeholders across EMEA, providing both strategic and pragmatic day-to-day advice on a broad range of employment law issues in various countries in the region, including advising in relation to works council issues in multiple countries, as well as collective and individual employment rights
- Lead a team of employment lawyers and legal professionals across the region.
- Serve as a strong contributor on legal compliance matters relating to employment issues.
- Support and provide advice on strategic cross-border employment law initiatives, including collaboration with other employment lawyers and SMEs.
- Draft and revise employment related agreements and policies, including employment contracts, severance agreements, company policies, and other employment related documents.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance relating to employment law issues for new business lines and markets in EMEA.
- Collaborate with the EMEA Employment Litigation attorneys regarding employment disputes in the region.
- Create and lead training on EMEA employment law issues.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer in one or more EMEA regions (preferably UK and/or Ireland).
- Significant employment law experience in private practice with a highly regarded firm and a corporate legal department. Experience with multiple countries in the EMEA region is required.
- Proven track record of building and leading high performing teams of legal professionals.
- Proven ability to think strategically and build processes to enable the team to grow and scale to meet business needs.
- Experience handling employment litigation matters in multiple jurisdictions, including retaining and managing outside counsel to ensure that all aspects of the company's legal representation are of the highest quality, and representing multi-national companies involved in complex disputes with outstanding outcomes.
- Demonstrated judgment, personal integrity, and interpersonal skills. Strong ability to work as a team player who can effectively collaborate with colleagues from the Global Legal team and business stakeholders to support the growth of the business.
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
