Do you thrive on building partnerships that open doors to better health and wellbeing for communities who need support most?

Are you confident leading engagement, outreach and communications activity across multiple services, using data and relationships to strengthen referral pathways and reach the right people?

Would you be excited by the opportunity to shape how ICE’s lifestyle and community services are seen, understood and accessed across diverse communities nationwide?

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head of Engagement who will play a key part of ICE’s Lifestyle and Community Services senior team. Engagement is at the heart of everything we do, and this role exists to make sure it works - everywhere, and at scale.

As our Head of Engagement, you will:

  • Support the Engagement Director to ensure the successful delivery of all community services and contracts across the UK, with accountability for ensuring service referral pathways are at the right volume, and the right demographic mix, in every contract area.

  • Lead the team of regionally based engagement, partnership and community specialists, helping them build engagement plans that reflect both their local communities and the wider systems their service sits within to meet the needs of the contracts.

  • Ensure that ICE and its services are embedded within local systems and partnerships, so that we become a genuinely connected, trusted and enduring part of the health and care landscape in every area we operate, not just a provider.

  • Work closely with contract performance and data teams to be able to identify early any issues and build mitigation plans.

  • Work closely with ICE Exec team to ensure service engagement, communications and service strategies are delivered, driving engagement and cohesiveness across all specialisms of the organisation, breaking down silos and building the culture of One ICE across all services and teams.

  • Support the development of new business and tenders, representing the engagement specalism in bids and mobilisations or new services and programmes.

  • Support internal comms and the promotion of ICE across the health domain nationally, working alongside the Engagement Director and the Marketing Team on campaign strategy and execution.

This role needs you to have the ability to travel independently where required and so you will need to be able to drive and own a car as the role involves work in various community settings.

You will also be required to travel to the Coventry office from time to time for training and team meetings.

The role will be expected to support evening and weekend events/activities, with advanced planning and notice.

A DBS is required for the role which the company will pay for.

Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
