La Fosse are partnering with an innovative, high-growth SaaS business to appoint a Head of Engineering.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the CTO, this is a business-critical leadership role with responsibility for driving engineering delivery, operational excellence, team performance and AI adoption across a growing technology organisation.
The business operates within the enterprise software space, delivering mission-critical products used by large, multi-site organisations. With ambitious growth targets and significant investment behind the technology platform, this role offers the opportunity to shape the future of engineering within a company entering a transformational phase of growth.
The engineering function currently consists of around 22 engineers organised across three product-focused squads, supported by an established leadership layer.
This is not an architecture-led role. Instead, you'll focus on delivery, strategy, organisational effectiveness, hiring and leadership, working closely with senior technical stakeholders to ensure the business can scale effectively while continuing its transition towards a more product-led operating model.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
