Your Mission 💪
As Head of Engineering, you will lead and scale a high-performing engineering organisation that delivers secure, reliable and innovative products which create meaningful value for our customers and business. Working closely with Product and Senior Leadership, you will translate company strategy into a clear engineering vision, robust technical execution, and a culture of continuous improvement. You will create the conditions for teams to do their best work by balancing customer needs, engineering excellence, operational resilience, and commercial priorities. This role combines strategic leadership, organisational design, technical credibility, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for developing engineering capability, improving delivery effectiveness, and ensuring technology investments support both immediate business goals and long-term growth.

What you’ll be doing 🎯
- Define and deliver the engineering strategy that supports business growth and product innovation.
- Lead, inspire and grow a high-performing engineering organisation.
- Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Partner with Product and senior stakeholders to align technology delivery with business priorities.
- Develop engineering leaders and create clear career pathways for teams.
- Drive delivery excellence across software engineering, platform engineering and cloud technologies.
- Own the technical roadmap and guide key architecture and technology decisions.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, resilient and commercially effective.
- Lead cloud, platform and engineering transformation initiatives.
- Champion modern engineering practices, DevOps, automation and AI adoption.
- Establish engineering standards, governance and technical best practice.
- Drive operational excellence through observability, reliability engineering and continuous improvement.
- Balance technology investment, technical debt and long-term platform evolution.
- Support strategic customer opportunities with technical leadership and expertise.
- Build strong relationships across Product, Security, Operations and Executive Leadership teams.

What experience we think you’ll need 🚀
- Proven experience leading and scaling engineering teams within a product-led organisation.
- Experience building high-performing engineering functions and developing engineering leaders.
- A strong software engineering background with expertise in architecture, software delivery and engineering best practice.
- Experience delivering complex customer-facing products, platforms or SaaS solutions.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS or GCP.
- Experience with modern software development practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of modern engineering technologies including cloud-native architectures, APIs, containers and platform engineering.
- Experience defining and executing engineering strategy aligned to business objectives.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, security and operational resilience.
- Experience partnering with Product, Design and executive stakeholders to drive outcomes.
- A track record of leading technical transformation and organisational growth.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance innovation, delivery and business priorities.
- Experience mentoring technical leaders and building a culture of engineering excellence.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and executive audiences.
- Awareness of emerging technologies, including AI-enabled development and automation, and how they can create business value.
