Job Title: Head of Engineering
Salary: £85,000-£100,000 + £7,000 Car Allowance + 20% Bonus + Healthcare Cover!
Location: Hybrid working, home & 2-4 days a month in Manchester + once a quarter trips to our Tech Hub, in Portugal!
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours
Job Status: Permanent

Marshall Motor Group: 162 dealerships across the UK representing 26 leading manufacturers offering New and Approved Used cars and commercial vehicles, with services including vehicles maintenance, servicing, and repairs.
Main Purpose of The Role:
We’re looking for a visionary Head of Engineering to lead our Engineering Teams, providing strategic direction and driving operational efficiency. Your leadership will help shape our long-term strategy, ensuring that we have the right talent, processes and culture to succeed, while ensuring we deliver on our immediate commitments. Aligning technical initiatives to ensure we achieve our business goals sustainably.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build multiple effective, sustainable and outcome-aligned engineering teams within a business domain who strive to continually improve. Ensuring that our tech stack and solutions are lean, agile, future ready and scalable.
- An excellent and persuasive communicator, who can influence others to think differently to achieve aligned outcomes. You will build strong relationships with stakeholders and colleagues across Constellation, ensuring alignment and collaboration.
- Mentor and support Technical Leads and Engineers, inspiring excellence and supporting their professional growth and well-being. Implement robust career development plans, regular 1:1s and feedback.
- Develop strategic and near-term talent plan. Partner with the talent acquisition team to identify, interview, and onboard top engineering talent, ensuring our team continues to grow in both skill and diversity.
- Be a key player in shaping and maintaining a diverse, inclusive, and innovative engineering culture that resonates across the entire organisation. Fostering a collaborative environment that supports hybrid ways of working. A culture champion who inspires excellence with a commercial mindset.
- Establish and monitor success metrics, including delivery timelines, team efficiency, and the adoption of new technologies. Driving cost effectiveness across technology.
- Confident in technical leadership, take accountability for service levels across domain, creating approach to consistently achieve. While balancing need to drive innovation, explore emerging technology, and contribute to strategic direction.
- You will be accountable for both team effectiveness and quality output, ensuring team alignment to outcomes. You will measure the success of your team through achieving business outcomes sustainably.

Knowledge and Experience Required:
