About FuseMetrix Group
FuseMetrix is building the most innovative and trusted platform powering leisure businesses across the UK. Since 2002, FuseMetrix has empowered businesses to streamline their operations and enable better customer experiences. Our cloud-based platform brings together online bookings, ePOS, finance, CRM, HR and more into a single, unified platform.
The Role
As part of continued growth in the UK market, we are now looking to appoint a Head of Development to be the senior technical leader in the business and take ownership of engineering operations.
We're looking for an individual to lead our development team and take responsibility for how we build and deploy our software and tech infrastructure. You'll manage a team of ~10 developers day to day, set the standards they work to, and represent software engineering to the rest of the business. The job is about people, process and direction. You won't be writing code.
You'll report directly to the CEO and be a key member of the Senior Leadership team. Youโll take the lead on two things that matter a great deal right now: strengthening SDLC and QA processes, and fully migrating our infrastructure to a public cloud provider.
We've also started to bring agentic development into how the team works and are looking for a leader who is excited about this future.
Reasons to use Rodeo
Iโm in my final year doing Economics and I donโt know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer โ it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) donโt need a masters. Letโs look at the ones youโd be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet โ that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Key Responsibilities
People management

Process and standards

Compliance and security
- Own compliance and security across development as we grow into larger customers and new markets: audits, data protection, and customer security requirements.
Infrastructure and cloud
- Lead our infrastructure roadmap, including fully migrating our current hosting setup to a public cloud provider.
Product and strategy
- Work with the CEO to turn the roadmap into a delivery plan, including new AI features and functionality.

Who we are looking for
Essential
- Experience managing an engineering team of a similar size, ideally 5 or more developers.
- Working knowledge of PHP, MySQL, and web development best practices. You won't be writing code day to day, but you need to understand what the team is building well enough to challenge it.
- Comfortable operating at a strategic level with the CEO, without losing sight of the detail underneath it.
- Experience operating public cloud infrastructure and hands-on execution of a migration to a public cloud provider such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- A record of putting processes in place and getting a team to commit to following them.
- Direct experience with compliance and security work, ideally including GDPR and PCI DSS.
- A genuine interest in implementing agentic development.
