Head of Engineering
Manchester - Hybrid 2 days a week
Salary - Up to £110,000 + Amazing Benefits
We're partnering with an innovative cyber security business that's looking to appoint an experienced Head of Engineering to lead and scale its engineering function during an exciting period of growth.
This is a strategic leadership role where you'll shape engineering direction, develop high-performing teams and ensure the delivery of secure, high-quality software products. You'll work closely with Product, Architecture, and senior leadership to define the engineering roadmap while driving a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
As Head of Engineering, you'll be responsible for:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing engineering managers and software engineers.
- Defining and implementing engineering strategy, standards, and best practices.
- Driving improvements across the SDLC, engineering governance, and delivery processes.
- Working closely with Product and Architecture to translate business objectives into technical delivery.
- Scaling engineering capability through recruitment, coaching, and succession planning.
- Owning engineering metrics, delivery performance, and operational excellence.
- Championing modern engineering practices including CI/CD, automation, cloud technologies, and DevOps.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and influencing technology strategy.
- Managing third-party suppliers and engineering partners where required.

We're looking for someone who has:
- A proven track record of leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
- Previous experience as a Head of Engineering, Director of Engineering, or Senior Engineering Manager.
- Experience delivering complex software products within a SaaS, software, or cyber security environment.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, cloud technologies, and modern engineering practices.
- Experience improving engineering governance, delivery frameworks, and development processes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at the executive level.
- A passion for developing people and building high-performance engineering cultures.
- Experience working within Agile environments.
