Are you an experienced Hard FM engineering leader with a strong background in PPP/PFI environments?

A leading Facilities Management organisation is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead Engineering and Maintenance services across a complex, multi-site healthcare portfolio. This is a senior leadership role combining technical governance, statutory compliance, team management, commercial performance, and stakeholder engagement.

The Role

As The Head Of Engineering, You’ll

  • Lead and develop Engineering & Maintenance teams across a multi-site portfolio.
  • Take responsibility for Hard FM performance, statutory compliance, and engineering standards.
  • Ensure KPIs, SLAs, and contractual obligations are consistently achieved.
  • Lead technical and H&S audits, ensuring compliance with HTMs, CDM, RAMS, and statutory requirements.
  • Monitor CAFM performance, PPMs, reactive maintenance, and compliance data.
  • Manage engineering contractors and specialist supply chain partners.
  • Support lifecycle replacement, asset management, and energy-efficiency programmes.
  • Oversee small and medium-sized works and contract variations.
  • Provide senior leadership with clear engineering, compliance, and performance reporting.
  • Support budget management, forecasting, cost control, and commercial performance.

You

To be successful, you’ll bring:

  • Significant Hard FM leadership experience across complex, multi-site estates.
  • Essential Experience Within a PPP/PFI Environment, Ideally Healthcare.
  • Strong knowledge of building services engineering and statutory compliance.
  • Understanding of HTMs, HBNs, CDM, and Building Regulations.
  • Proven experience managing engineering teams, contractors, and senior stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and contract performance.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
  • IOSH training or an equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
