Head of Engineering — AI Platform

You don’t need to have held the title “Head of Engineering” before. We’re looking for someone with strong technical credibility who is ready to take ownership of the wider engineering function.

Location

London / Hybrid, with flexibility for remote working

About Us

We’re working with a fast-growing tax technology business building an AI-powered platform that is transforming complex, manual processes into intelligent automation. This is a highly hands-on leadership role for an experienced engineer ready to step into a Head of Engineering position.

You might currently be a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Staff/Principal Engineer or hands-on Engineering Manager. You’ll be capable of setting technical direction and leading a team, but you’ll still want to design systems, review code, solve difficult engineering problems and build production software yourself. This is not a role for someone looking to move away from engineering into pure management.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
