Job Title
A fast-growing, regulated financial services group is seeking a senior, hands-on risk leader to shape and strengthen enterprise and operational risk across the organization.
About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to take an existing enterprise risk framework and make it more mature, visible, and effective across multiple entities and jurisdictions. You'll have meaningful ownership, direct exposure to senior leadership and the Board, and the freedom to make risk management practical and valuable without the bureaucracy of a large institution.
Key Responsibilities
- Owning and continuing to mature the Group's enterprise risk framework.
- Strengthening operational risk reporting, KRIs, dashboards, and board-level management information.
- Improving risk and control registers, including ownership, supporting evidence, issue tracking, and remediation.
- Developing risk committee materials, governance cadence, and follow-through.
- Providing effective second-line oversight and challenge across the Group.
- Overseeing operational resilience, business continuity, outsourcing, vendor management, and DORA requirements.
- Challenging first-line teams on risk ownership, reporting discipline, and control effectiveness.
- Ensuring material risks are understood and addressed before new products, systems, entities, or banking arrangements are launched.
- Managing and developing one direct report while maintaining a hands-on approach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- The ability to work effectively across multiple entities, jurisdictions, or regulatory regimes.
- The credibility and judgment to challenge senior stakeholders constructively.
