What You’ll Be Doing

Are you an experienced risk and resilience leader ready to shape how a major local authority anticipates challenge, makes confident decisions and protects vital services? Slough Borough Council is seeking a Head of Enterprise Risk to lead our enterprise risk management, insurance and claims, and business continuity functions at a critical point in our improvement journey. This is a high-profile senior leadership role with the opportunity to influence corporate strategy, financial sustainability and governance across the whole organisation.

As our lead authority on risk and resilience, you will work closely with the Corporate Leadership Team, elected Members, the Section 151 Officer, Audit Committee and key external partners to embed a mature, proportionate and forward-looking approach to risk. You will provide trusted advice and constructive challenge on strategic, financial, operational, regulatory and reputational risk, while ensuring our insurance, claims and business continuity arrangements are robust, effective and aligned to the Council’s priorities.

We are looking for a credible and collaborative senior professional with significant enterprise risk experience, strong knowledge of insurance and business continuity, and the confidence to influence at the most senior levels. If you combine strategic insight with practical delivery, can build trusted relationships across complex organisations, and want to play a pivotal role in strengthening resilience and assurance for our communities, we would welcome your application.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
