We’re partnering with a fast-growing, technology-led financial services business to appoint an Interim Head of Enterprise Technology.
Reporting into the CIO, this is a broad senior technology leadership role responsible for bringing together the organisation’s internal technology estate across enterprise architecture, cloud and infrastructure, business systems, integration platforms and IT operations.
The business operates with the pace and mindset of a modern, agile technology company, and this individual will play a key role in creating clearer ownership, simplifying the estate and establishing a scalable enterprise technology operating model that can support continued growth.
The Role

A key part of the mandate will be bringing together technology ownership that currently sits across different functions and establishing greater consistency, accountability and governance across the estate.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Defining and delivering the Enterprise Technology strategy and operating model
- Leading across IT Operations, Infrastructure, Cloud, Enterprise Architecture and Business Systems
- Creating clearer ownership, standards and governance across the technology estate

- Providing oversight of integration platforms, APIs and shared technology services
- Improving service management, operational maturity and employee technology experience
- Managing strategic technology partners, suppliers, budgets and investment priorities
- Working closely with Engineering, Product, Data & AI and Security leadership
- Acting as a trusted technology adviser to the CIO and wider executive leadership team

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
