£120,000 - £130,000 per annum
A high-growth manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Director of Health & Safety to lead and develop its Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) strategy across a multi-site operation.
This is a pivotal leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape safety culture, build scalable frameworks, and partner closely with senior leadership to ensure health and safety remains integral to business growth and performance.
Responsibilities
- Develop and lead the company's Health, Safety & Environmental strategy.
- Provide expert HSE advice to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Drive risk assessment, hazard identification, and safe systems of work.
- Ensure compliance with relevant UK and European health and safety legislation.
- Champion a strong safety-first culture through training, engagement, and communication.
- Design and implement scalable HSE policies, processes, and governance frameworks.
- Lead incident investigation, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Manage relationships with regulators, customers, and external stakeholders.
- Build and develop the HSE function to support future business growth.

About You
- Minimum 10 years' Health & Safety experience within manufacturing, engineering, or other regulated/high-hazard environments.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing HSE frameworks within complex organisations.
- Strong knowledge of UK and European HSE legislation.
- Experience leading risk management, incident investigations, and compliance programmes.
- Ability to influence at all levels, including Board and Executive stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).

Desirable Experience
- Experience working in environments involving hazardous materials, explosive atmospheres, or ATEX requirements.
- Background within a fast-growing or transforming organisation.
- Experience scaling HSE functions across multiple sites.
