Holkham
Holkham is a 25,000-acre rural estate on the North Norfolk coast, home to a Grade I listed Hall, a nationally renowned nature reserve, and a diverse portfolio spanning heritage buildings, farms, and residential and commercial property. Employing over 350 people, Holkham was named Best Large Employer for the Eastern Region in 2023, and its strong community spirit and positive culture set it apart as a place to build a career.
This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of property maintenance across an estate of real scale and character – from the Hall itself to 300 residential homes and 14 tenanted farms. You’ll lead a skilled in-house trades team, manage external contractors, and shape how reactive and planned maintenance is delivered across the whole property portfolio. It’s a role with genuine variety day to day, and the chance to make a lasting, visible impact on a truly unique heritage estate.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
